A series of in-person classes will be offered to fully vaccinated older adults starting in June at Unity Church, 601 Tompkins Drive, Monona, WI. Precautions dictated by the pandemic will be enforced to insure everyone's safety. Please read details below.
Take Broadway to Monona Drive, turn north taking Monona Drive to Tompkins Drive (about half a mile). Turn right on Tompkins Drive and travel another half mile to Unity Church. The church is on the right and has a parking lot in the rear.
All students will be required to provide proof of vaccination. If you have been sick yourself or have been with someone else who has been sick, you should not come to class. Temperatures will be taken before you are allowed into class. Please wear a mask. Sanitizer will be provided. Students will be responsible for their own yoga equipment.
A series of four (4) in-persons classes will be held each Friday in June at 11 a.m. (There will be NO drop-in opportunities. You must register before the first class.) Use the form on the "contact" page to register.
Meeting dates: June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25.
ARRIVAL AND CHECK IN
The building will be opened at 10:30 a.m. The door will be locked at 10:55 a.m. so class is not interrupted. If you arrive late, you will not be able to enter the building.
June 4 - If you have an acknowledged registration but have not mailed your registration fee and proof of vaccination, please bring both and arrive at 10:30 a.m. to complete the registration process. Thank you in advance. This will allow the class to start on time.
You will be required to bring your own mat. You may also bring any other props you wish to use. The teacher will provide massage balls, if you don't own one, and will sanitize them after each class. You may bring bolsters, blocks, or belts, if you wish. (Used props may be available for purchase from the teacher. Please indicate your interest when you register.)
The four-week series fee is $25, or what you can pay, a portion of which will be paid to Unity Church for the use of the facility. If you need scholarship help, please talk to me. Fees are due before or at the first class.
Included in your fee is the option to join the Zoom class on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. To take advantage of this additional FREE class, let me know so I can send you the Zoom class link.

"Easy Yoga Plus!" is a safe program designed for the older body with focus on breath work and easy poses aimed at preventing falls and improving the quality of life. This class will also teach awareness of basic skills to make daily living easier. Each class will focus on breath work, the movement of each joint, and elements of balance ,along with easy yoga poses. Goals are to improve balance, strengthen muscles, increase range of motion and energy, and enhance your quality of life.
Classes will begin with a Dharma talk which helps to understand how yoga is benefical to the body, mind, and spirit. A 60 minute yoga practice follows the Dharma talk. Focus on specific issues such as tight hips, neck and shoulder issues, etc. will also be discussed.
