"Easy Yoga Plus" classes are sponsored by Goodman Community Center(GCC), NewBridge (NB), and the Fitchburg Senior Center, proving classes at their facilities before the epidemic. They are encouraging everyone to continue their practice via the Zoom platform until we are again able to have face-to-face classes.
Each class will be an hour in length. You should check in 10 minutes before the class begins to get instructions and set up for the practice. We will be able to interact with each other during this 10 minutes. Everyone will be put in mute mode during the class. After class we will again be able to interact, ask questions, and talk to each other.

The class is designed to improve flexibility, balance, and general well-being. The class begins with breath work seated in a chair, followed by movement of all joints. Some standing poses and exercises will follow. If possible, the next part of the class will be done from the floor but can be modified for those who wish to remain in a chair. The last pose, Savasana, is at least 5 minutes of total relaxation. The class is taught by Ellen L. Millar, Registed Yoga Teacher and a graduate of Duke Integrative Medicine Master Class, Yoga for Seniors.
IDEAL FOR THE OLDER ADULT
ACCESSIBLE FOR EVERYONE
Donations are welcome to cover teaching and Zoom costs. The suggested donation would be $15/month for either the Wednesday OR the Friday class ($4/class). If you wish to attend both classes, the suggested donation would be $25. Checks madepayable to "Easy Yoga Plus!" may be mailed to 101 Frost Woods Road #313, Monona, WI 53716
NOTE: Some local advertising says classes are FREE. This was the case during the month of May as we were learning if/how Zoom classes would work. If you are unable to make a contribution (above is a suggestion based on face-to-face donatton history), please contact me to discuss your situation.
If you have a yoga mat, you will want to use it. You will also need a sturdy chair without arms. You may also want to have 2 yoga blocks, a yoga belt, a lacrosse ball, and a soft blanket that can easily be rolled to use under your neck when on the floor. If you do not have these items, see list below for substitutions.
Yoga Blocks - Two books of equal thickness or two firm pillows.
Yoga Belt - You may use a belt from your bathrobe, a scarf, or a regular belt.
Lacrosse Ball - You may use a tennis ball but it will not get to the tension in the deep tissues.
