This class is designed especially for the older adult and others with limitations. Although many yoga poses are included in the classes, the goal is not to teach poses but to teach movement. Movement is important not only because it is the way we move from place to place and do things, but but because it the way to train muscles and nerves to move efficiently. Poor habitual movements lead to muscle imbalances and over time can cause loss of mobility, flexibility, and balance leading to chronic pain. Yoga poses and somatic flows is our opportunity to connect with all part of ourselves - mind - body - spirit.
All classes take time to move all joints and muscles slowly and gently with the goal of improving healthy movement, increasing mobility, flexibility, and balance. Breathwork aids movement and will be utilized to enhance the benefit from the yoga poses and somatic flows incorporated in each class.
Classes start promptly at 1:30 p.m. on Mondays. Please come early and bring your own mat and other props you might need. Come on the journey with us. Everyone is welcome!!
